The National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) has recently announced the project evaluation results of the 2020 National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). With a total of 40 projects funded by NSFC, HUBU ranks the first in provincial universities of Hubei Province.

According to project types, HUBU was approved for 18 general projects and 22 Youth Science Foundation projects. Among them, 11 were in School of Life Science, 7 in School of Materials Science and Engineering, 7 in School of Physics and Electronic Science, 6 in School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, 5 in Mathematics and Statistics, 3 in Materials and Engineering, and 1 in Computer Science and Information Engineering.

In 2020, HUBU organized a total of 259 applications for various types of projects, with a funding rate of 15.44%, the same as the national average, including the funding rate of 18.64% for the Youth Science Foundation projects, 2.42 percentage points higher than the national average.
