From August 9 to 11, the 6th China Graduate Intelligent City Technology and Creative Design Competition was held in Tongji University. Under the guidance of Wei Lifei, associate professor of the School of Resources and Environment, a team of graduate student Wang Zhou, Huang Can, Liang Yajing and Yan Xinru, won second prize with their work Intelligent Remote Sensing Monitoring of Urban Black Odor Water Body with Integrated Hyperspectral/Thermal Infrared UAV.
In response to the policy of national ecological environment protection and the needs of smart cities, the team developed a UAV hyperspectral/thermal infrared remote sensing monitoring platform, which can realize real-time and efficient remote sensing monitoring of urban water quality with integrated artificial intelligence model and provided theoretical basis and data support for the construction of smart cities.
China Graduate Intelligent City Technology and Creative Design Competition is one of the thematic competitions of "China Graduate Innovation Practice Competition Series ". It is held by Academic Degree and Graduate Education Development Center of the Ministry of Education, the Youth Science and Technology Center of the Chinese Association of Science and Technology, the National Engineering Graduate Education Steering Committee, the Strategic Innovation Alliance of China's Smart City Industry and Technology, and the Strategic Innovation Alliance of the new generation of artificial intelligence industry. 1172 teams from 152 universities (institutes), amount to more than 4400 contestants in total took part in the competition, which is the highest number ever since.
