Hubei University Hosts Hubei Provincial 2026 International Archives Day Event

On June 8, The 2026 Hubei Provincial International Archives Day Event, themed Archives Reflect Jingchu · Archives Nurture Young Talents was held at Hubei University. Distinguished attendees included Fan Ming, Deputy Director of the General Office of the CPC Hubei Provincial Committee; Zhou Xiangyang, Director of Hubei Provincial Archives; Qiao Zhiqiang, Level 2 Counsel of Department of Education of Hubei Province; Xie Hongxing, Secretary of the Party Committee of Hubei University; Liu Jianping, President of Hubei University and Deputy Secretary of CPC Hubei University Committee; and Zeng Xiangyong, Vice-president of Hubei University. Feng Yuxia and Leng Hezhen, Deputy Directors of Hubei Provincial Archives, presided over the ceremony respectively.




In Xie Hongxings address, he stated that the university will thoroughly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinpings important instructions on archives work, innovate working approaches, leverage its disciplinary strengths, and continuously advance archives-university cooperation. Joint efforts will be made to foster high-quality archival professionals, conduct archival theoretical research and practical innovation, and contribute more Hubei Universitys strength to the high-quality development of archives undertaking across the province.


Zhou Xiangyang remarked that bringing archival culture into universities represents a vivid practice of carrying forward traditions while breaking new ground for archives work, as well as a responsibility to inherit revolutionary heritage and cultivate new-generation talent. He encouraged young students to draw spiritual strength from red archives, integrate their youthful endeavors into Hubeis development as a strategic pivot. He looked forward to deeper archives-university collaboration in resource sharing, joint talent training and cultural co-construction, enabling archival culture to take root on campus and pass down the spirit of archives among younger generations.


Leng Hezhen and Zeng Xiangyong represented the archives and the university respectively to exchange gifts: the university presented compilation and research achievements including biographical archives of luminaries and university historical materials, while the provincial archives presented precious archival collections such as documentary heritage.
