The signing ceremony of Comprehensive Strategic Cooperation Agreement between Wuchang District People’s Government and Hubei University was held on campus on June 3. Fan Likui, Secretary of the Wuchang District Committee of the CPC, Peng Yongjun, Deputy Secretary of the District Committee and District Mayor, Xie Hongxing, Secretary of the Party Committee of Hubei University and Liu Jianping, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Hubei University Committee and President of Hubei University attended the signing ceremony. Li Li, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Hubei University Committee presided over the signing ceremony.

Peng Yongjun and Liu Jianping represented the university to sign the the agreement. According to the agreement, the two parties will deepen their cooperation in areas such as technological innovation and industrial application, the innovation-driven development belt around Hubei University, talent and cadre training, Party-building practice, and social services, aiming to establish a provincial-level demonstration zone for university-local collaborative innovation, a pilot zone for industry-education integration, and a model zone for grassroots governance.

Xie Hongxing warmly welcomed Fan Likui and his delegation and extended sincere gratitude for Wuchang District Party Committee and Government’s long-standing support in the university’s construction and development. Xie said, based on the achievements of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030), the university would step up with Wuchang District, and pursue shared prosperity to precisely align with Wuchang District's "1451" industrial system and its development needs in building the "Premier District of Hubei". Focusing on areas in party-building guidance, integration of science and technology, talent cultivation, cultural empowerment and community-level governance, the university continues to advance basic research and deep government-industry-university-research integration. Moreover, it will accelerate effective connection among development of education chain, innovation chain, industrial chain, and talent chain so as to achieve the integrated development of education, science and technology, and talent from isolated breakthrough to all-round progress. The university will embark on a new chapter for university-local cooperation and coordinated development and inject a strong impetus into our endeavors to accelerate Hubei to become an important strategic fulcrum for the rise of the country’s central region .

Fan Likui extended appreciation and gratitude for the achievements Hubei university had made by taking root in Wuchang, integrating into Wuchang, and serving Wuchang. He said, currently, Wuchang is striving to improve itself toward the advanced urban districts of first-tier cities, and has been fully committed to achieving a GDP of 300 billion yuan while Hubei university is accelerating its development into a high-level comprehensive research university to join the ranks of “Double First-Class” universities. Both parties have the same goal and vision of pursuing first-class status, which has paved a solid foundation for deep integration and coordinated development. It is hoped that both parties take this signing as an opportunity to advance symbiotic relationship, promote common prosperity, and improve joint governance and shared benefits. The parties should boost the connection of university-district, build the innovation development belt around Hubei University to a high standard, create a provincial demonstration zone for university-local coordinated innovation so as to achieve integrated development and common prosperity for urban-university development.
