On October 1st, Hubei University held a flag raising ceremony to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of People’s Republic of China. The HUBU leadership, leaders from relative departments and schools, representatives of the party branch secretaries, retired teachers, teaching staff and students attended the ceremony. The ceremony was chaired by Hou Yong, deputy Party secretary of Hubei University.
At 7 o'clock in the morning, dressed in formal attire and school badge, all the teachers and students sang the national anthem and waved national flags to witness the bright Five-Starred Red Flag raised in the morning sun.
Shang Gang, Party secretary of Hubei University, delivered a speech. He said that the 7 decades of New China’s endeavor witnessed HUBU's continuous efforts in practicing “Smarter Every Day, Stronger Every Step”in a steady, scientific and innovative pace. He hoped that, HUBUers can vigorously carry forward the spirit of patriotism under the guidance of Xi Jinping's new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics and contribute more efforts to the "Double First-class" construction and reform and innovation of Hubei University.
Student representative Huang Longhe from the school of Politics & Law and Public administration expressed their determination in striving for self-improvement, overcoming difficulties and forge ahead with China.
All teachers and students waved national flags and said“I love you, China!” in chorus to pay tribute to the national flag and express their patriotism and the end of the ceremony.
