On December 16, the seminar on "International Chinese Language Education Standards and Examinations" , co-organized by the Center for China-foreign Language Exchange and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education and Hankao International Education Technology (Beijing) Co was held online. The Confucius Institute, jointly built by Hubei University and the State University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, was awarded Excellent Test Center for Chinese Language Examination.

This seminar is one of the activities of the "2020 International Chinese Language Education Exchange Week", where experts and scholars in international Chinese language education from different countries discussed and exchanged views on the theme of "International Chinese Language Education Standards and Examinations". It aims to promote the development of international Chinese language education. Among 1,201 Chinese language examination centers in 156 countries (regions) worldwide, the Confucius Institute of the State University of Sao Paulo was awarded "Excellent Chinese Language Examination Center". The Confucius Institute at the State University of Sao Paulo was the only test center in Brazil to receive this award.

The Confucius Institute at Sao Paulo State University, as the largest and most influential Chinese language test center in Brazil, has provided quality test services for nearly 3,000 Brazilian candidates and made positive contributions to the promotion and popularity of the HSK and HSKK test programs in Brazil.

In particular, facing the unprecedented challenges posed by the epidemic in 2020, the Chinese and foreign staff at the test center worked together to administer the exams in a standardized manner, safely organizing about 300 Brazilian candidates to take the online home exams without errors, setting a new record for the number of participants in a single exam.

The Confucius Institute of the State University of Sao Paulo currently offers HSK, HSKK and YCT examinations, and will strive to expand its services and examinations. At the same time, the test center is actively negotiating with HanKao International to become a partner of the HSK Study in China program (overseas) to build a broader bridge between Brazil and China.
