A Strategic Cooperation Agreement between Hubei University and Wuhan Institute of Virology, Chinese Academy of Sciences was signed on May 8. The agreement aims to implement the goal set on the provincial technological innovation conference and promote the high-quality development of Hubei province by technological innovation.

The strategic cooperation agreement was signed by Liu Jianping, President of Hubei University and Xiao Gengfu, party secretary of Wuhan Institute of Virology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Attendees of the meeting are Yuan Zhiming, Dean of Wuhan Branch of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Gong Peng, Vice President of Virus Institute, Jiang Tao, Vice President of Hubei University, and the directors of relevant departments.

President Liu Jianping said that Hubei University boasted a solid foundation in biology and virology. And Hubei University was pleased to make contribution to the development of Jiangxia Laboratory by the cooperation between HUBU and Wuhan Institute of Virology, Chinese Academy of Sciences

Yuan Zhiming hoped that Hubei University would seize the opportunity of cooperation to produce original results that meet the needs of our nation and Hubei province. After that, Xiao Gengfu introduced the general situation of Jiangxia Laboratory and the work to be carried out in the future.

Before the signing ceremony, Liu Jianping and Jiang Tao visited Wuhan National Bio-Safety Level 4 Lab of CAS.
