The 2023 National University Five-A-Side Football League Final was held in Yibin, Sichuan province on January 11, 2024. The Five-A-Side football team of Hubei University won the championship, and thus amounted to ten championships of the National University Five-A-Side Football League.

The 2023 National University Five-A-Side Football League ran with a division into South and North Zone Matches and the Grand Finals, with a total of 77 universities participating. The Five-A-Side football team of Hubei University qualified for the finale as the champion of the Southern Zone. After five rounds of thrilling competition, they finally defeated their opponents from Beijing Sport University by 5:1, and won the trophy. Teachers and athletes from the School of Physical Education of Hubei University received rewards from the organizing committee. Yu Zhixiong and Li Xin, were honored the Best Team Leader and the Best Coach respectively, while Wang Jiahao and Song Zechao were honored the Most Valuable Player and the Best Goalkeeper respectively.

Founded in 2002, the Five-A-Side football team of Hubei University has claimed 10 National University Five-A-Side Football League titles, 2 CFA Futsal Super League titles, the First National Futsal Championship title and the CFA First Division Futsal League title, becoming a "Grand Slam" team of Men's Five-A-Side Football in China. The team has represented China to participate in the FISU World University Championship Futsal for five times, and achieved the best performance in the tournament ever for Team China.
