Nicaragua’s Ambassador to China visits Hubei University
Michael Campbell, Nicaragua’s Ambassador to China, and Ramiro José Cruz Flores, the Minister Counsellor, visited Hubei University on March 20, 2024. Wang Shimin, vice-president of Hubei university, met with the guests. Also present at the meeting were directors from the Hubei University Office of International Affairs, Academy of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Institute of Regional and International Studies.
The two sides exchanged views on mutual visits for teachers and students, teaching and research exchanges, cultural exchanges, and establishment of joint research centers. Michael Campbell also delivered a report titled "Nicaragua's current domestic and foreign policies and China-Nicaragua relations”, which was warmly applauded.
Cuban Ambassador to China visits Hubei University
Alberto Blanco Silva, Cuban ambassador to China, and Moraima Rodríguez Nuviola, ambassadress, visited Hubei University on March 21, 2024. Hou Yong, deputy secretary of the CPC Hubei University committee, met with the guests. Participants of the meeting included Zhu Xiaobin, deputy director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Hubei Provincial People's Government, and directors from the Hubei University Office of International Affairs, Academy of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Institute of Regional and International Studies.
Alberto Blanco Silva expressed his gratitude for the warm reception at Hubei University and gave an account of Cuba's higher education system and its exchanges and cooperation with China. He praised the university's long history and strengths in Latin American studies and stated that the Cuban Embassy will promote connections between Hubei University and Cuban universities for closer and deeper ties in areas of mutual advantage, such as biotechnology, network information, and renewable energy.
Jamaica’s Ambassador to China visits Hubei University
Arthur Williams, Jamaica’s Ambassador to China, and Jala Bernard-Willams, ambassadress, visited Hubei University on March 23, 2024. Ke Tao, a member of the standing committee of the CPC Hubei University committee, met with the ambassador and ambassadress. Participants of the meeting included directors from the Hubei University Office of International Affairs, Academy of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Institute of Regional and International Studies. The meeting included discussions on collaborative programs for talent cultivation, joint research platforms, and cultural exchanges between Hubei University and Jamaican universities.
