Recently, the National Office for Philosophy and Social Sciences announced the approved projects for the 2023-2024 Chinese Academic Translation Project of National Social Science Fund of China. Among them, the application for the English translation of "The Political Wisdom of Chinese" by Professor Shan Wenbo, from the School of Foreign Languages at Hubei University, has been approved as a key project, marking the first time that Hubei University has secured a key project in this category. This year witnessed a total of eight projects approved among universities across Hubei province, with this one being the sole key project.

"The Political Wisdom of Chinese," published by China Social Sciences Press in January 2023, delves into the ancient Chinese experience and wisdom of governance, categorizing them as eleven thematic sections to reflect on the past and look to the future. The translation of this work helps to elaborate to the world the cultural roots of major concepts as Chinese modernization and a Community with a Shared Future, and fully demonstrates the autonomy and self-reliance of Chinese political science in scientific research.
