Hubei University wins Team First Prize in the 13th National Metallographic Skills Competition for College Students

The finals of the 13th National Metallographic Skills Competition for College Students were held at Huanggang Normal University from July 25 to July 30. Hubei University secured the Team First Prize for the first time.

Under the guidance of Jiang Juan and He Miao, teachers from the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Hubei University, the contestants performed outstandingly in the competition. Yang Zicheng, won the first prize, while Deng Yanxi and Chen Zhengquan secured the second-place honors, Ye Yuhan and Lu Xingxin bagged the third prizes. The team ranked the 7th in the competition, earning the Team First Prize.

The Finals of the 13th National Metallographic Skills Competition for College Students, directed by the National Administry Committee on Teaching Materials Science and Engineering to Majors in Higher Education under the Ministry of Education, and organized by Huanggang Normal University. It has attracted over 40,000 participants from 571 universities nationwide. Through a rigorous selection spanning preliminary and semi-final rounds in 26 sub-divisions, a total of 1,898 contestants, representing 531 universities, have advanced to the grand finale.
