To strengthen international exchanges and cooperation and advance the internationalization and first-class disciplines construction of Hubei University, a six-member delegation led by Zeng Xiangyong, Vice President of Hubei University, paid a visit to universities in New Zealand and Australia from September 19 to 26.
The delegation made successive visits to important cooperation partners including the University of Waikato and Universal United New Zealand(UUNZ) Institute of Business in New Zealand, and Griffith University, Queensland University of Technology(QUT), University of Canberra, so as to negotiate on matters concerning joint education programmes, teacher and student exchanges, academic communication, joint training for postgraduates and PhD. students, collaborative research. The delegation visited the Centre for Innovation and entrepreneurship at the University of Auckland, and also made a visit to New Zealand Chinese Scientists Association(NZCSA) and met with Chinese scholars.
The delegation signed a cooperation memorandum with Universal United New Zealand(UUNZ) Institute of Business, a credit transfer agreement with Griffith University, and an international credits recognition agreement with Queensland University of Technology, so as to host joint cultivation programmes in majors such as tourism management, chemical engineering and technology, communication engineering, Internet of Things engineering and artificial intelligence. And the delegation also renewed the agreement on bridge programs with University of Canberra to continue promoting the sustainable development of the collaborative program in running schools for undergraduates majoring in international affairs and international relations. The program has been running well since the first enrollment in 2013, and the two universities have held activities like students' joint cultivation, faculty exchanges and joint teaching.
The visit has further strengthened the joint talent cultivation and academic exchanges and collaborations between Hubei University and universities and institutes in New Zealand and Australia, broadened the international cooperation channels and enhanced the international influence of Hubei University.
