Hubei University held a grand ceremony to celebrate birthday for 89 retired officials and teachers at Conference Center on October 10, the eve of the Double Ninth Festival, offering sincere wishes for their 70th, 80th or 90th birthday.

Xie Hongxing, Secretary of the Party Committee of Hubei University, Li Li, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of Hubei University and directors of relevant departments gathered with retired teachers in the Sirui Hall. The ceremony was kicked off by presenting the birthday-celebrating video, and was climaxed with jubilant lion dance performance and a video showing the birthday persons’bearing and charm.

"I wish you all health, longevity and happiness!" On behalf of Hubei University, Xie Hongxing extended sincere greetings to all longevos and awarded the birthday allowances to those aged 90 years. He said that the vigorous and upward development of Hubei University is owe to generations of officials and teachers for their tremendous dedication, collective wisdom, and lots of love and care.

The year of 2024, marking the 40th year of transformation and development for Hubei University, is a critical point for Hubei University to seize new opportunities and focus on high-quality development, and to be included in the“Double First-Class University Initiative”, achieving new breakthroughs. Xie Hongxing sincerely expected further care about and support for the construction and development of Hubei University. He emphasized that Hubei University is always grateful and has great respect for retired teachers, constantly explores new measures to provide better services for retired officials and teachers, ensuring their access to care, support, recreation, and achievements.

Xie Hongxing and Zhang Chuanxiang—a representative of retired officials and teachers in their nineties, cut a birthday cake together. A chorus of “Happy Birthday”rang the hall with cheers and laughter. Moreover, students from Culture & Art Center of Hubui University presented a wonderful performance “Forget Worries with Flowers Blooming”, expressing their sincere wishes to longevos with delightful singing and graceful dancing.
