Liu Junchen,a undergraduate from the School of Physical Education of Hubei University, secures the runner-up position in the men’s Group C-A snowboard category in the 11th National College Students Skiing Challenge(Finals). It is the first award of Hubei University in a national-level snow and ice sports event.

The finals feature seven events, including alpine skiing giant slalom and snowboard parallel giant slalom (individual and team categories), divided into Group A, Group C-A, and Group C-B. A total of 328 athletes from 39 universities across 11 provinces nationwide participate the finals.
Compared to skiers from northern part of China who receive over 200 days of snow training at fixed venues annually, Liu Junchen faces greater challenges with his "migratory training" model (seasonal relocation for snow access). Since his first trying skiing at the end of 2022, he has been utilizing spare time for systematic training at snow resorts, practicing 2-3 sessions weekly. Over the two years, he accumulates over 400 hours of on-snow training.
