On September 24, the National Office of Philosophy and Social Sciences officially released the list of annual projects and youth projects of the National Social Science Fund in 2021, and 19 projects of our school were approved for funding. Among them, there were one key project, nine general projects and nine youth projects, the total number of projects (excluding western projects) ranked 69th in the country, and ranked 4th in Hubei Province.
The approved projects cover 11 disciplines, including philosophy, linguistics, Chinese history, Chinese literature, political science, sociology, party history and party building, law, theoretical economics, physical education, and archaeology, and 10 disciplinary colleges, including four in the School of Public Administration, three in the School of History and Culture, three in the School of Chinese Language and Literature, two in the School of Philosophy, two in the School of Foreign Languages, and one in the School of Marxism, the School of Law, the School of Business, the School of Normal Education, and the School of Physical Education respectively.
The number of projects in our school is basically the same as that in 2019 and 2020, and reaches a high level in history. The number of youth projects has achieved the best results in history. In recent years, our school attaches great importance to the improvement of young teachers and backbone teachers’ scientific research ability. Therefore, we take various measures to stimulate teachers’ scientific research vitality, and continuously improve the quality of project applications.
It is reported that the annual and youth projects of the National Social Science Fund have received 32714 valid declarations this year, including 3518 key projects, 21746 general projects and 7450 youth projects. Finally, 4642 projects were approved, including 370 key projects, each funded 350,000 yuan; 3169 general projects, 1103 youth projects with the fund of 200,000 yuan.
