Hubei University hosts the third Deans Forum of Institutes of Regional and International Studies and the second Hubei University · Yangtze River Forum

The 3rd Deans Forum of Institutes of Regional and International Studies and the 2nd Hubei University · Yangtze River Forum were held on May 18, 2024. The forum was hosted by Hubei University under the theme of "Promoting regional and international studies with Chinese characteristics: collaboration, innovation and platform". Directors of relevant departments from International Department, Central Committee of CPC, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of PRC, the Ministry of Education of PRC, the Foreign Affairs Office of Hubei Provincial People’s Government, as well as nearly 200 scholars from over 120 universities and academic research institutions gathered in Hubei University, delving into teaching and research experience of Regional and International studies. The forum was broadcast live by Xinhua News Agency, with more than 500,000 online participants. Ke Tao, a member of Standing Committee of the CPC Hubei University Committee, presided over the opening ceremony.

Liu Jianping, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Hubei University Committee and President of Hubei University, extended a warm welcome to all guests, and provided an overview of the university's more than 90-year history and the research development of regional and international studies.

In his keynote speech, Zhai Kun, Convenor of the Discipline Evaluation Group of international and regional studies, State Council Academic Degrees Committee, Deputy Dean of the Institute of Area Studies, Peking University, shared insights on how to carry out high-quality curriculum in regional and international studies and outlined the blueprint for the curriculum system of regional and international studies.
