Department of Science and Technology of Hubei Province announced the approval of 12 Hubei Provincial key laboratories on December 26, 2023. The Hubei Provincial Key Laboratory of Big Data Intelligent Analysis and Industry Applications, built at Hubei University, and the Hubei Provincial Key Laboratory of Precision Manufacturing of small molecule Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API), jointly established by Hubei University and Wuhan Wuyao Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., were among the approved list.

The Hubei Provincial Key Laboratory of Big Data Intelligent Analysis and Industry Applications, is capitalized on the School of Computer Science and Engineering of Hubei University, and is jointly supported by the disciplinary resources of Software Engineering, Mathematics, Cyberspace Security, and Information and Communication Engineering. It aims to meet the strategic needs of the national “Digital China” initiative and the development demand for Hubei Province to become a national core area for big data innovation. The laboratory focuses on three research interests: big data intelligent analysis theories and methods, big data integration and critical security technology, and big data intelligent services and industry applications. This is of great significance in promoting technological innovation in the field of big data intelligent analysis in Hubei Province.

Hubei Provincial Key Laboratory of Precision Manufacturing of small molecule Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) aims to meet the national strategic development needs of comprehensive health care and that of Hubei Province. It focuses on green and low-carbon technology and advanced manufacturing technology, pooling resources and strengths from both the university and enterprises. The laboratory conducts research in three main areas: high-throughput screening and combinatorial chemistry, green catalysis and precise synthesis, and micro-chemical technology and intelligent manufacturing. It is dedicated to the precision manufacturing of small molecule Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API), promoting the interdiscipline integration and development of chemistry, biology, medicine, and environment in Hubei, thus contributing to the development of featured Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient pharmaceutical industry and the local economy in Hubei province.
