A delegation of nine students from the Russian Generation Z Youth Group, consisting of students from Kazan Federal University, Perm National Research Polytechnic University, and University of Nizhni Novgorod, visited Hubei University on August 22, for an exchange program to experience China's intangible cultural heritage.

At the Chinese Culture Experience Center of Hubei University, the Russian youth, under the careful guidance of their instructors, they crafted their own personalized TUAN SHAN (Circular Fan) through painting and coloring. Following this, the Russian students visited the Martial Arts Center of Hubei University, enjoying the extraordinary charm of dragon and lion dances, and traditional martial arts. Under the guidance of members from the dragon and lion dance teams and the martial arts troupe, some Russian students wielded colorful dragon lanterns, tossing and jumping, some wear golden lion costumes to imitate the movements of lions, and others stand on one leg as a rooster does to practice a movement in Taijiquan, creating a cheerful atmosphere.

This year marks the 75th anniversary of China-Russia diplomatic ties and is also designated as the China-Russia Year of Culture. Under the "Yangtze-Volga" regional cooperation framework, Hubei Province has been strengthening exchanges with Russia. Hubei University, under the guidance of the Foreign Affairs Office of Hubei Provincial People’s Government and the Hubei Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, has actively promoted cooperation and exchanges with Russian universities. This year, Hubei University has signed cooperation agreements with many institutions including Kazan Federal University, Tomsk State Pedagogical University, Tambov State Technical University, and Ivanovo State University of Chemistry and Technology, and has engaged in online and offline discussions with nearly ten other Russian universities, including Perm National Research Polytechnic University.
