A media delegation of 21 Brazilian journalists, organized by the Workers' Party (Brazil), visited Hubei University on August 25th. They joined teachers and students of Hubei University to explore cooperation opportunities and pursue development for China and Brazil.

Hou Yong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Hubei University，extended the warm welcome to the delegation. He emphasized that the cooperation with Brazilian and Latin American universities is the focus of the internationalization of Hubei University, with the Confucius Institute at Sao Paulo State University and Latin American studies being its most distinctive achievement of international education. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Brazil, Hubei University actively engages in the series of activities of the China-Brazil Year of Diplomacy, deepening the exchanges between Chinese and Brazilian universities in cultural cooperation, joint-construction of disciplines and academic research. Hou Yong stated that this visit enables Brazilian journalists to better understand and report on Hubei' s outcome of advancing Chinese Modernization and promoting high-quality development, thus improving the international communication capacity and expanding the international influence of Hubei University.

Wang Yunxiang, Deputy Director of the Fifth Bureau of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, noted that this visit was the first official activity of the Brazilian Media delegation in Wuhan. He expressed his appreciation to  the Hubei Provincial Foreign Affairs Office and Hubei University for their considerate preparation and arrangements, which provided an excellent platform for China-Brazil exchanges.

Ricardo Batista Amaral, the media advisor to Workers' Party (Brazil), said he was deeply honored to be the team leader of the Brazilian Media delegation and hoped to promote mutual understanding between China and Brazil through on-the-spot visit. He believes that China's remarkable achievements in modernization are the result of the collective efforts of billions of its people. He also noted that the friendship between China and Brazil has a long history, and this exchange presents a rare opportunity，and he looked forward to fruitful outcomes from this visit.
