The Youth Art-integrated Ideological and Political Course and Welcome Party for Freshmen of Hubei University 2024 was held at the Yangluo campus on September 20. More than 6000 freshmen attended the splendid art-integrated ideological and political course.

Amidst the waves of cheers, the performance of “Dragons Tossing and Lions Jumping” kicked off the welcome party, consisted of 3 interrelated chapters, showcasing the 40-year magnificent journey of Hubei University’s transformation and development, with teachers and students pooling efforts and forging ahead.

Teachers, students, and military training instructors of Hubei University presented a diverse range of stage play, recitation play, medley, martial arts, folk music, and sketch comedies, each with its unique charm. “The Original Aspiration”, a play on Hubei University’s history and development, once won the first prize at the 7th National College Students’Art Performance, narrated the story of predecessors of Hubei University constructing the Xikan Building, elucidating their unwavering commitment to original aspirations and forging ahead with resolve and tenacity. The instrumental performance “King of Elephants” elicited gasps of amazement. It blended Chinese martial arts with traditional music, combining toughness with softness, thus demonstrating the profoundness of traditional Chinese culture. The medley “I Want to Sing to You”kicked off with the vibrant atmosphere, with students across the venue singing along loudly and waving their glow sticks creating a sea of light beneath the stage.

During the interactive section, the freshmen eagerly participated in the “Light Up the Map” activity. The names of provinces and cities around China continuously were lightened on the digital screen, symbolizing the convergence of students from all corners of China at Hubei University. Led by the host, all freshmen shouted out in their hometown dialects, “Here I am at Hubei University!”, filled with anticipations for the future. “With kind counselors and fully-equipped accommodations, Hubei University is a real home away from home,” Chen Siyu, a freshman majoring in Integrated Circuit Design and Integrated System 2024, “I’m very happy to be here at Hubei University!”

The welcome party 2024 of Hubei University marked its end with singing in unison the“I Love You, China”.
