Nagasaki Youth Delegation visits Hubei University

A 26-member Nagasaki Youth Delegation visited Hubei University on September 10 at the invitation of the Hubei Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. Si Qingchuan,Vice President of the Hubei Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Zeng Xiangyong,Vice President of Hubei University, heads of relevant departments, representatives Japanese major students at Hubei University, and exchange students at University of Nagasaki, Japan, participated in the exchange activities.

Si Qingchuan extended a warm welcome to the Japanese  Nagasaki Youth Delegation. He stated that Hubei province boasts beautiful landscapes, brilliant culture, and strong scientific and educational capabilities. In recent years, with increasingly frequent exchanges and cooperation, the relationship between Hubei and Nagasaki has been closer and more friendly. He also expressed a sincere expectation that young students could foster mutual understanding, continue to enhance the long-standing friendship and cultural exchanges between Hubei and Nagasaki, so as to promote and contribute more to the development of China-Japan relations.

Zeng Xiangyong expressed warm greetings to the Japanese guests from afar. He said that thanks to province-prefecture friendship between Hubei and Nagasaki, Hubei University has established a closer partnership with universities in Nagasaki Prefecture, especially in terms of student exchanges yielding rich fruits. He encouraged young people from China and Japan to enhance understanding, expand cooperation, deepen friendship, thus contributing to the development of China-Japan relations.

Daisuke Sato, the leader of the Nagasaki Youth Delegation, Director of International Affairs Division of Culture, Tourism and International Affairs Department of Nagasaki Prefectural Government, expressed his gratitude for the warm reception, to the Hubei Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and Hubei University. He noted that  Hubei and Nagasaki have established friendly relations on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Revolution of 1911, and have carried out in-depth cooperation in the fields of culture, sports and education. He hoped that this exchange would promote mutual understanding between China and Japan,building a bridge of friendship between China and Japan through joint efforts.

During the event, Nagasaki Youth Delegation visited the Hubei University Museum and Archives Center to gain a insight into the Jing-chu culture and the history of Hubei university. They were invited to Hubei University Chinese Culture Experience Center to learn about Jing-chu cuisine and beautiful scenery, experienced a national intangible cultural heritage seal cutting skills, and interacted with teachers and students in Japanese major, with a lively atmosphere on site.
