Hubei University held the Appointment Ceremony for High-Level Talents 2024 on October 24, honoring and paying tribute to talents. Leaders of Hubei University, including Xie Hongxing, Liu Jianping, Zeng Xiangyong, Wu Mingxin, Liu Zhihong, and Li Li, heads from schools and departments, and high-level talents and selected candidates for talent projects introduced since September 2023, as well as representatives from faculty and students attended the ceremony.

At the ceremony, Felix Dapare Dakora, former president of the African Academy of Sciences and international academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, was invited to serve as Dean of the Modern Agricultural Innovation Research Institute at Hubei University. Professor Shi Shuo was honored with senior professor of humanities and social sciences at Hubei university (the second batch). Liu Jianping, Deputy Secretary of CPC Hubei University Committee and President of Hubei University, presented appointment certificates to Professor Dakora and Professor Shi, while Xie Hongxing, Secretary of the Party Committee of Hubei University , awarded appointment certificates to Professor Li Daiqin and other national-level talents.

Xie Hongxing welcomed the high-level talents on behalf of Hubei University. He stated that Hubei University is currently entering a new period of valuable historical opportunities for development, a window period of opportunities for securing place among the "Double First-Class" universities and for creating a new landscape of high-quality development. Whether we can seize the initiative and rise above adversity ultimately relies on talents.
