Zhang Tianjin, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of Hubei University, led a 6-member delegation to visit universities in South Korea and Japan from June 15 to 22, aiming to promote international exchange and cooperation.
At Dongguk University in South Korea, Zhang Tianjin held talks with Jung Jae-hoon, director of the Office of International Affairs. They exchanged views on student exchange programs, faculty and researcher exchanges, and academic exchange and collaboration. Zhang Tianjin expressed the commitment to promoting cooperation in fields such as humanities and history, art and design, and biomedicine. At Hanseo University in South Korea, Zhang Tianjin discussed with President Ham Ki-sun, Vice President for International Affairs Kim Jin-woo, and heads of the School of Convergence Design and the School of Languages on matters such as student exchange and joint cultivation programs. The two universities renewed their Student Exchange Agreement.

At University of Nagasaki in Japan, Zhang Tianjin held discussions with Chairman of the Board Sakaguchi Katsuhiko, President Kazunobu Asada, Vice President Hashimoto Yukari, and heads of the Department of International Business Development and the Center for Global Education and Research. Building upon prior cooperation, the two universities agreed to deepen collaboration, optimize programs such as student exchange and scholar visits, expand exchange and cooperation channels in fields such as digital media, intangible cultural heritage, public policy, and digital economy, and jointly apply for research projects. At Niigata University in Japan, Zhang Tianjin held a discussion with Vice President Tsuboi Nozomi and heads of the International Education Center and the Office of International Affairs on exchanges and cooperation. They reached a consensus on deepening the industry-academia-research-application integration in fields including materials science, art and design, and cultural heritage. At Soka University in Japan, Zhang Tianjin held talks with Vice President Ida Junichi and heads of the Student Affairs Office and the International Affairs Office. The two universities engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as AI-powered educational reform and innovative talent cultivation. They agreed to promote substantive cooperation in areas, including promoting cultural exchanges , hosting academic conferences, and applying for research projects.
During the visit, the delegation also visited Hubei University exchange students studying in Japan and South Korea, observed demonstration classes, and paid a visit to universities such as the University of Tokyo and the Institute of Science Tokyo. Relevant leaders from the Undergraduate School, the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, the School of History and Culture, the School of Art and Design, and the School of Foreign Languages of Hubei University participated in these activities as part of the delegation.
