Professor Li Ling wins second prize in the 5th National Teaching Innovation Contest for College Teachers

The national on-site competition of the 5th National Teaching Innovation Contest for College Teachers recently came to a close. Professor Li Ling and her team from the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Hubei University, were awarded second prize in the of Basic Courses in the Professor  Category for their innovative achievements in the course “Inorganic Chemistry.”

In response to the need for breakthroughs in key technologies within emerging engineering education and focusing on the core mission of cultivating practical talents, Professor Li Ling and her team proposed the SMART teaching philosophy. Targeting teaching pain points, they deepened teaching reforms in the course “Inorganic Chemistry” from four dimensions: teaching content, teaching resources, teaching methods, and teaching assessment. By integrating AI tools into teaching, they established an AI-empowered, integrated ecosystem for teaching, learning, assessment, and management, achieving remarkable results in reform and innovation.

Hubei University attaches great importance to organizing the contest. From the university-level selection and provincial rounds to the preparation for the national finals, multiple rounds of training and mock drills were meticulously organized to provide support for the participating teachers. Hubei university will continue to promote innovation in education and teaching and encourage faculty to enhance teaching quality, cultivating more high-quality talents.
