Hubei-Taiwan Technological Exchanges and Cultural Tour Launched at Hubei University

The Hubei-Taiwan Technological Exchanges and Cultural Tour, themed Intelligence Converges in Jinchu, Creating the Future with Quality Innovation”, was launched in Hubei University on August 29. Over 100 youth representatives from universities and enterprises across the Strait, including Tsing Hua University of the Taiwan region, Tamkang University, Tzu Chi University, Fu Jen Catholic University, Peking University, Donghua University, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University attended the event.


Liu Jiangdong, President of the Hubei Provincial Taiwan Compatriots Association, Zhang Danqing, Deputy Director of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the People's Government of Hubei Province, Li Xia, Deputy Secretary-General of the Taiwan Scholar Association, Yang Size, Former President of Deputy Secretary-General of the Taiwan Scholar Association, Liu Zhihong, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hubei University Committee and Vice President of Hubei University, and Liang Wei, Director of the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office of the Hubei Provincial Department of Education were present to launch the event.

On behalf of Hubei University, Liu Zhihong extended a warm welcome to the representatives and provided a brief introduction to the University. He stated that Hubei University attaches great importance to fostering communication with universities in the Taiwan region and takes proactive steps to promote the integrated development of higher education across the Strait and to the establishment of the platform establish a platform for exchange and cooperation between youth from both sides of the Taiwan Strait. He expected that young people cross-Strait can be united, interdependent, and cooperative, thus contributing to the realizing national rejuvenation.

Wang Yuxin, a youth representative from Taiwan studying in Hubei, shared her one-year experience studying and living in the mainland. She noted that the society is highly modernized in the mainland with well-developed infrastructure and cutting-edge scientific and technological innovation and application, offering a convenient and efficient life. She expressed her hope that youth from both sides of the Taiwan Strait will learn from each other in the future, contributing to the integrated development between Hubei and Taiwan.
