Recently, the 4th SynBio Challenges was held at Shenzhen University of Advanced Technology. Eighteen student teams from the School of Life Sciences at Hubei University participated in the competition, achieving outstanding results with seven gold medals, eleven silver medals, and one best individual category award.
In the Green Track (Agriculture and Environment) of regular competition, four projects from Hubei University won gold medals: the ZM-SynCQDs project instructed by He Qiaoning and Yang Shihui, the Aromatics Symphony Orchestra project instructed by Xing Qiong and Jiang Wenxue, the EnSynStrat project instructed by Hu Yumei and Dai Longhai and the Green Agriculture project instructed by Du Xuezhu. Additionally, seven teams were awarded silver medals in the regular competition.
In the innovative competition, teams from Hubei University also had impressive performances. In the track of Synthetic Cells, both Microbiology HUT team and Cheng Yufan team gained gold medals. The Microbiology HUT team was also honored with the "Best Synthetic Cell Award". In the track of Protein Design, the Enter Text team won a gold medal. Furthermore, four other teams from Hubei University earned silver medals in the innovative competition.

The 4th SynBio Challenges was hosted by Chinese Society of Biotechnology and co-organized by Shenzhen University of Advanced Technology, Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shenzhen Institute of Synthetic Biology, Shenzhen Synthetic Biology Association and National Bio-manufacturing Industry Innovation Center. It attracted over 200 teams from universities worldwide, with nearly 1,900 young talents competing together.
