The 19th "Challenge Cup" National College Student Extracurricular Academic and Technological Works Competition concluded at Nanjing University on November 3. Hubei university entered the national finals with 11 projects, winning a total of one first prize, two second prizes, and two third prizes in the main competition, as well as one top prize, two first prizes, one second prize, and two third prizes in the special “Leaderboard Challenge” competition. Both the quantity and quality of award-winning works reached a historic high.

The “Challenge Cup,” as one of the highest-level, largest-scale, and most comprehensive flagship events in the field of technological innovation for Chinese college students, is hailed as the "Olympics" of Chinese college students' scientific and technological innovation. This year’s competition, under the theme of “Youth Shouldering Responsibility for Chinese Modernization,” attracted over 2,700 universities and more than 3 million students nationwide, with over 400,000 project submissions, setting a new record in participation scale.
Since its launch in October 2024, Hubei University’s “Challenge Cup” competition has garnered significant attention and active participation from both faculty and students. A total of 169 projects were recommended by 26 schools across the university, with nearly 2,000 teachers and students taking part. Through processes such as university-level selection, key project cultivation, provincial-level breakthroughs, and national-level advancement, Hubei University submitted five projects to the main competition of the “Challenge Cup” national event, and 33 projects to the “Leaderboard Challenge” and “AI+” special competitions.
