Recently, the approval results of the 2025 National Key Research and Development Program of China projects were announced. Hubei University has achieved significant breakthroughs in multiple key areas, securing a total funding of 23.865 million yuan. This fully demonstrates the university's scientific research innovation capability and team strength in cutting-edge fields such as Synthetic Biology.

In recent years, Hubei University has closely aligned with national strategic needs, systematically promoted organized research, continuously deepened the institutional reform in scientific research, consistently stimulated innovation vitality, and enhanced its Integrated Problem-Solving Capability. To date, the university has undertaken 4 projects and 16 sub-projects under the National Key Research and Development Program of China in the fields of "Synthetic Biology" and "Green Bio-Manufacturing," with total funding nearing 120 million yuan. Focusing on bio-manufacturing and utilizing Synthetic Biology as the technical pathway, Hubei University is dedicated to the systematic design and construction of "Cell factory" and the organization of joint research efforts in key core technology areas, in order to build an innovation hub for bio-manufacturing in Central China.

Moving forward, Hubei University will continue to align with national and regional strategic layouts, deepen organized Discipline Construction and scientific research, advance the Integrated Development of Education, Science and Technology and Talents, concentrate on the high-quality development of the entire industrial chain in bio-manufacturing, and promote the deep integration of scientific and technological innovation with industrial innovation, so as to build a first-class national strategic scientific and technological force in Biocatalysis and Biotransformation. In doing so, we will comprehensively serve the entire industrial chain (upper, middle, and lower streams) of bio-manufacturing, lead the development of new quality productive forces, and provide strong support for Hubei Province in building a central Industrial highland for bio-manufacturing.
