December 29, 2025 — The 2025 China University Football League concluded in Yuxi, Yunnan province, with Hubei University’s team finishing as the national runner-up.
The league consisted of two stages: regional competitions in the northern and southern divisions, followed by the national finals, with competitive intensity escalating at each level. Demonstrating solid technical and tactical skills along with unwavering perseverance, Hubei University futsal team advanced through multiple rounds to reach the championship stage. Although they narrowly lost in the final match, their exceptional performance earned widespread recognition and acclaim.

As a national benchmark for futsal talent development upholds the philosophy of "cultivating through sports and competitions." It has established an integrated talent development system covering selection, training, and competition, while carrying forward the tradition of mentoring and support. The team has represented China six times in the World University Futsal Championships, achieving its best-ever historical result, and has won the national university futsal league title eleven times. To date, it has contributed nearly 140 player appearances to the Chinese team and nearly 200 to professional clubs. Distinguishedalumni include Li Xin and Hu Jie, who serve as head coaches of the Chinese men's and women's futsal teams respectively, as well as Shen Siming, winner of the "Chinese Footballer of the year."
