The Discipline Appraisal Group of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council and the National Steering Committee for Professional Degree Graduate Education have released the results of the 2025 Special Qualification Assessment of Academic Degree Authorized Units, under which five master’s degree authorized units of Hubei University, including World History, all successfully passed the assessment.

The Special Qualification Assessment of Academic Degree Authorized Units is an important component of the Academic Degree Authorization Examination System and the Postgraduate Training and Management System. The assessment was launched by Office of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee as a comprehensive inspection of newly added degree authorized units that have obtained academic degree authorization for three full years, beginning in mid-October 2025. Four discipline authorized to offer master degree program units—World History, Information Resources Management, Chemical Engineering and Technology, and Environmental Science and Engineering—as well as one Professional Degree Authorized Unit in Publishing participated in this Special Qualification Assessment, and all obtained the conclusion of “Continued Authorization.”　

Moving forward, Hubei University will take this assessment as an opportunity to promote reform, construction, and enhancement through evaluation. Combined with the feedback opinions, Hubei University will continuously optimize the layout of disciplines and majors, deepen the construction of characteristic connotation, and improve the quality of postgraduate training and the comprehensive strength of disciplines, so as to better serve the national strategic needs and the development of local economy and society, and to cultivate and deliver more high-quality talents.
