The 2026 World Youth Development Forum was held in Wuhan from June 15 to 17. Faculty members and students of Hubei University participated in the forum through keynote speeches, forum moderation, volunteer services, and cultural and creative exhibitions. They shared the "Voice of Hubei University" on this international platform for youth communication. Xie Hongxing, Secretary of the Party Committee of Hubei University, and Li Li, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, attended relevant activities of the forum and visited and greeted the university’s student volunteers.

Hubei University co-hosted the Thematic Forum on Creative Economy and Trendy Culture. Li Zhuilong, a Brazilian international student at Hubei University, served as the forum moderator. Professor Zheng Xiaoyun from the School of History and Culture of Hubei University delivered a keynote speech entitled “A New Landscape of China’s Creative Industries: How Yangtze River Cultural IP Drives Urban Cultural and Humanistic Economy”, sharing practical experience of China’s creative economy with the world. Student delegates of Hubei University held in-depth exchanges with young delegates from various countries. At the Thematic Forum on Volunteerism and Poverty Reduction, Chen Tianyi, a young faculty member from the School of Journalism and Communication of Hubei University, acted as moderator. Young participants from Hubei University actively engaged in thematic discussions and project resource matching, exchanging and learning from cutting-edge global youth models for poverty alleviation and volunteer services. At the forum’s Creative Market, handmade artworks created by Hubei University’s Art Dream Factory team were exhibited collectively. The displays drew youth representatives from numerous countries, who frequently stopped to communicate and interact with our team.

Throughout the forum, Hubei University deployed 20 outstanding young volunteers to undertake service support work covering guest guidance, on-site coordination and logistics. Their high-quality and attentive service won high recognition from the Organizing Committee of the World Youth Development Forum,emerging as the indispensable "Strength of Hubei University" behind the scenes. Prior to the forum, Hubei University also hosted general volunteer training for colleges and universities across the province.
It is reported that the official theme of the 2026 World Youth Development Forum is "Youth Drive Development for a Better World". More than 500 youth representatives from United Nations agencies, 12 international youth organizations and over 120 countries participated in the forum.
