On June 2, the 2026 Hubei Intercollegiate Futsal League kicked off at Hubei University. Over six days and five grueling fixtures, Hubei university’s futsal team secured the championship of the Men’s High-Level Group with a perfect five-win record. Hou Yong, Deputy Party Secretary of Hubei University and Chairman of Hubei University Sports Committee, attended the final, extended his regards to the athletes and coaching staff, and watched the match throughout.

The division brought together elite teams from 13 universities, including Central China Normal University, Wuhan University, Wuhan University of Technology and China Three Gorges University. Competing on home ground, Hubei University players fought their way through the group stage, quarterfinals and semifinals with successive victories.

In the final, Hubei University faced defending champion China Three Gorges University. The stadium was filled with enthusiastic spectators whose cheers echoed throughout the game. The two sides were locked in a closely contested battle in the first half. After the break, Hubei University gained momentum and launched a series of effective attacks, eventually securing a 4–3 victory over defending champion China Three Gorges University to claim the championship.
