On the morning of July 9, Labadanov Murtazali Khulataevich, Rector of Dagestan State University, led a delegation to visit Hubei University. Liu Jianping, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Hubei University Committee and President of Hubei University, met with the guests and held talks.

Liu Jianping extended a warm welcome to Labadanov and his delegation, and gave a comprehensive overview of Hubei University's achievements in reform and development in recent years—marked by vigorous efforts to develop emerging engineering disciplines and a comprehensive reshaping of the university's development landscape. He pointed out that the heads of state of China and Russia have designated 2026–2027 as the “China-Russia Years of Education”， and that this important arrangement has charted the course for exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in education, culture, and scientific research, and provided a fundamental guide for the two universities to pursue joint development. He expressed the hope that the two sides would take this visit as an opportunity and take the new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Cooperation between the two universities as a foundation, and carry out all-round, in-depth, and practical cooperation in such areas as mutual visits of faculty and students, scientific research collaboration, and people-to-people and cultural exchanges, so as to jointly build a high-quality benchmark for China-Russia educational exchange and cooperation.

Labadanov gave a comprehensive introduction to Dagestan State University's operations and international cooperation. He noted that Dagestan State University and Hubei University were founded in the same year, with their histories and disciplinary layouts highly aligned, sharing similar development roots and common development visions. He looked forward to the two universities further building a platform for cooperation and exchange, focusing on disciplines such as new energy materials, intelligent manufacturing, and artificial intelligence, carrying out international research collaboration and joint talent cultivation, and realizing resource sharing, complementary strengths, and common development.

During the discussions, representatives from both sides introduced their respective strengths in discipline development and their intentions for future cooperation. They reached consensus on establishing a regular communication mechanism and accelerating the implementation of the Agreement on Scientific and Educational Cooperation between Hubei University and Dagestan State University, and clarified the key directions and specific approaches for follow-up cooperation.

Relevant officials from the Office for International Cooperation and Exchange, the School of Intelligent Manufacturing, the School of New Energy and Electrical Engineering, and the School of Computer Science of our university attended the discussions.
